The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan which are hereinafter referred to as by the Parties

based on provisions of the Agreement on bases of interaction between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Kazakhstan of January 19, 1993,

attaching importance to development of interaction in the field of fight against crime and ensuring reliable protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens,

directed by mutual desire to strengthen and develop cooperation between law-enforcement bodies of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Kazakhstan,

respecting sovereignty and independence of both states,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties, within the competence, provide protection of the rights, freedoms, legitimate interests and property of citizens and legal entities of the state of other Party on an equal basis with citizens and legal entities of the state.

Acceptance and consideration by law-enforcement bodies of claims and petitions from citizens and legal entities of the state of other Party on the questions which are within the competence of these bodies shall provide the parties.

Article 2

The parties, on the basis of the current legislation of the states, perform cooperation in the following directions:

a) fight against crimes against life, health, freedom, advantage of the personality and property;

b) fight against gangsterism, terrorism and international crime;

c) fight against illegal transactions against weapon, ammunition, explosive, toxic agents and radioactive materials;

d) fight against illicit trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances;

e) fight against production and sale of forgery documents, money and securities;

e) fight against crimes in the field of economy;

g) fight against smuggling, and also against crimes which object are cultural and historical values;
