State members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (further - state members),

confirming the aspiration to providing on collective basis of safety and stability in zone of responsibility of the organization of the Agreement on collective security (further - the CSTO) and in adjacent regions,

declaring commitment to the purposes and the principles enshrined in the Charter of the UN, to decisions of the UN Security Council, the universally recognized norms of international law

being guided by the purposes of the Agreement on collective security of May 15, 1992, Articles of organization of the Agreement on collective security, the Decision of Council of collective security of the CSTO of June 18, 2004 about the Concept of forming and functioning of the mechanism of peacekeeping organization activity of the Agreement on collective security,

proceeding from importance of ensuring effective participation of the CSTO and its state members in efforts of the world community on maintenance of international peace and safety,

including participation of the CSTO in peacekeeping activities by the efficient instrument of strengthening of its international line items, the authority and political weight in world and regional cases,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

For the purposes of this agreement mentioned below terms mean:

"peacekeeping activities of the CSTO" - set of the measures including the peaceful means and actions directed to the dispute resolution (according to the Charter of the UN), and also the collective actions taken by state members with use of military, militia (police officer) and civil personnel, directed to prevention, control and the termination of military operations between the states or within the state by means of intervention of the third party and promoting peacekeeping and safety;
