About breeding case in livestock production

This Law determines legal and economic basis of implementation of breeding case in livestock production, relations of the state and owners of breeding animals and breeding products. It is directed to the state stimulation and regulation of activities for enhancement existing and to creation of new breeds, preserving gene pool, reproduction of farm animals (cattle, pigs, horses, sheep, goats), fur animals, bird, fish and bees.

Operation of this Law extends on physical persons and legal entity irrespective of the patterns of ownership containing the breeding animals using breeding products, who are engaged in reproduction of animals in the territory of the Republic of Belarus and also on the bodies exercising public administration and the state control in the field of breeding case in the Republic of Belarus.

Article 1. Determination of concepts

In this Law the following concepts and their determinations are applied:

breeding case - complex of the actions in livestock production directed to preserving, improvement and rational use of useful heritable qualities of animals;

the breeding animal - typical for certain breed (cross-country, the line) animal with reliable origin which is intended for renewal of this breed of its separate qualities or products and shall have individual (nested) number;

breed of animals - rather numerous group of the animals of one type having certain economic and useful qualities and eksteryerny signs, color, with firmness transferring these signs to posterity and having the necessary number of lines (cross-countries) allowing to avoid unsystematic related cultivation in breed in the structure;

breeding products (products of breeding animals) - young growth, sperm, embryos, egg, caviar, larvae, whitebaits, pchelomatka, pchelopaketa which are received from breeding animals;

the breeding book - the book intended for accounting of especially highly productive breeding animals, their origin and breeding value of posterity;
