Regulations on National committee on hydrometeorology under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan

1. The national committee on hydrometeorology under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan (Turkmengidromet is referred to as) is the state body performing carrying out state policy in the field of hydrometeorology and providing requirements satisfaction of industries of the national economy, defense industry and population of Turkmenistan in information on the actual and expected changes of hydroweather conditions and their effects.

2. Turkmengidromet in the activities is guided by the Constitution of Turkmenistan, the laws of Turkmenistan, acts of the President of Turkmenistan, resolutions of Majlis of Turkmenistan, decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, international treaties concerning hydrometeorology, and also this Provision.

3. The main objectives of Turkmengidromet are:

providing ministries, departments, public organizations and population hydrometeorological information, and also information on geomagnetic and solar activity;

creation of forecasts of the hydrometeorological phenomena, water content, the favorable periods of sowing of agricultural crops taking into account state of environment, productivity and gross collection of main types of crops, providing the state and public organizations with these data;

carrying out applied researches in the field of natural and technical science, implementation of the advanced high technologies;
