About the state guarantees of equality of women
This Law according to national traditions of the Turkmen people and universal values is directed to realization of the basic principles of policy of Turkmenistan in the field of human rights, ensuring all-round development and progress of women and establishes the state guarantees for implementation by women on the basis of equality with men of human rights and freedoms in political, economic, social, cultural and other areas.
1. Women in Turkmenistan irrespective of nationality, race, origin, property, official and marital status, the residence, language, the relation to religion, political convictions, party accessory have the rights, equal with men, and freedoms in political, social and economic, cultural and other spheres of human activities.
2. The rights and freedoms established by this Law are guaranteed to the women who are citizens of foreign states, and also the women who do not have nationality, constantly living in Turkmenistan on an equal basis with women of Turkmenistan if other is not stipulated by the legislation Turkmenistan and international treaties of Turkmenistan.
The legislation of Turkmenistan on the state guarantees of equality of women is based on the Constitution of Turkmenistan and consists of this Law, other regulatory legal acts of Turkmenistan, international treaties of Turkmenistan.
