About certification of products and services
This Law establishes the legal basis of certification, services and other objects (further - products) in Turkmenistan, and also the rights, obligations and responsibility of participants of certification.
Certification of products (further - certification) is activities for confirmation of conformity of products to the established requirements.
Certification is performed for the purpose of:
- creations of conditions for activities of the companies, organizations, organizations and entrepreneurs in the single goods market of Turkmenistan, and also for participation in international economic, sci-tech cooperation and international trade;
- assistance to consumers in the competent choice of products;
- consumer protections from bad faith of the manufacturer (the seller, the contractor);
- control of safety of products for the environment, life, health and property;
- confirmations of the indicators of product quality declared by the manufacturer.
The relations in the field of certification are governed by this Law and acts of the legislation of Turkmenistan issued according to it.
If the international treaty of Turkmenistan establishes other rules, than those which contain in the legislation of Turkmenistan on certification then are applied rules of the international treaty.
