considering the agreement in principle concerning protection during transition period Border troops of the Russian Federation of the Tajik-Afghan and Tajik-Chinese border fixed in the Protocol on results of negotiations of government delegations of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan of July 21, 1992

wishing to create contractual basis for stay of Border troops of the Russian Federation in the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan and ensuring protection of border with Afghanistan and China with them,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

For the purposes of this agreement stated below terms mean:

1) "Border troops of the Russian Federation" - connections, parts and divisions of Border troops of the Russian Federation, departments of military counterintelligence which are in the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan;

2) "persons which are part of Border troops of the Russian Federation":

a) military personnel of Border troops of the Russian Federation;
