The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of protection and use of objects of archaeological heritage.
The legislation on protection and use of objects of archaeological heritage consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about protection and use of objects of archaeological heritage then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
the archeologist - the researcher having the corresponding higher education;
The state catalog of archaeological objects - the accounting document containing the main data on each archaeological subject;
archaeological subject - the material remaining balance revealed when implementing archaeological of investigations, archeological excavations and archaeological supervision or in the course of economic and other activity, and also (treasure) found accidentally and undergone identification;
archaeological monument - the archaeological object included in the State inventory of objects of material cultural heritage;
objects of archaeological heritage - set of archaeological objects and archaeological objects;
