Article 1. Main objectives of this Law

This Law governs the relations in the field of the organization of the state statistics, determines powers of bodies of the state statistics and creates normative basis for maintaining single system of statistical information.

Article 2. Legislation on the state statistics

The legislation on the state statistics consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.

If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about the state statistics then are applied rules of the international treaty.

Article 3. Main objectives of the state statistics

The main objectives of the state statistics are:

collection, processing, accumulating, storage, generalization, analysis and publication of statistical information on the social and economic phenomena, processes and their results;

providing the single statistical methodology conforming to international standards;

providing state bodies and self-government institutions of citizens, legal entities, public institutions and international organizations, and also public statistical information in accordance with the established procedure;

maintaining system of the economical and statistical qualifiers necessary for the organization of statistical works and Unified state register of enterprises and organizations.

Article 4. Basic principles of the state statistics

The basic principles of the state statistics are:

reliability, objectivity, impartiality;

relevance, comparability and stability;

availability, transparency and openness;
