wishing to provide favorable conditions for further development and strengthening friendly, good-neighbourhood between the people of Russia and Azerbaijan,

for the purpose of international legal determination of the Russian-Azerbaijani frontier,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

In this Agreement the term "frontier between the Russian Federation and the Azerbaijan Republic" (further - "frontier") is understood as the line and the vertical surface passing across this line, the dividing territories (the land, waters, subsoil and airspace) of the Russian Federation and the Azerbaijan Republic.

Article 2

The frontier from the initial point - points of joint of frontiers of the Russian Federation, the Azerbaijan Republic and Georgia, passes to final point with coordinates 41 ° 50,5' northern latitude and 48 ° 35,6' east longitude located at its exit to urez of water of the Caspian Sea.

Coordinates of final point are determined by the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Azerbaijan Republic on differentiation of adjacent sites of bottom of the Caspian Sea of September 23, 2002.

Location of point of joint of frontiers of the Russian Federation, the Azerbaijan Republic and Georgia is determined by the separate tripartite agreement.
