Chapter I. General provisions

Article 1. The basic concepts used in this Law

For the purposes of this Law the following basic concepts are used:

labor protection - the system of measures for preserving life and health of workers in the course of labor activity including legal, social and economic, organizational and technical, sanitary and hygienic, treatment-and-prophylactic, rehabilitation and other actions;

working conditions - set of factors of the production circle and the labor process exerting impact on working capacity and health of the worker;

harmful production factor - production factor which impact on the worker can lead to his disease or decrease in working capacity;

dangerous production factor - production factor which impact on the worker can lead to its injury or sudden sharp deterioration in health, death;

safe working conditions - working conditions under which impact on the working harmful or dangerous production factors is excluded or levels of their impact do not exceed the established standard rates;

workplace - the place of permanent or temporary stay working in the course of labor activity;

means of individual and collective protection of workers - the technical means used for prevention or reduction of impact by workers of harmful or dangerous production factors and also for protection against pollution;

individual protection equipment of the worker - the means intended for personal protection of respiratory organs, hearing, sight and integuments of the worker against impact of adverse factors;
