Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Government of the Republic of Estonia on trade and economic cooperation

of March 1, 1999

The government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Estonia, hereinafter referred to as "Contracting parties",

- proceeding from need of creating favorable conditions for development of trade and economic relations between both states;

- considering that commercial ties constitute important and necessary element in strengthening of the bilateral relations;

- being guided when implementing mutual commercial ties by the principles of equality, equalities, mutual advantage and rules of international law;

- aiming to develop the relations in the field of trade according to the principles of the World Trade Organization (the WTO, GATT),

agreed as follows:

Article 1

Contracting parties, being guided by the principles of mutual advantage and interest, will take all necessary measures for development and expansion of trade and economic relations between business entities of Contracting Parties irrespective of their patterns of ownership with observance of the legal acts existing in both states.

Article 2

For the purpose of creation of mutually advantageous conditions for development of trade and economic cooperation Contracting Parties will provide each other most favored nation treatment in foreign trade in that, as for:

- customs duties and charges which assess the imported and exported goods including methods of collection of such customs duties and charges;

- the provisions concerning customs clearance, transit, warehousing, reloading of goods and other services of this sort;

- the taxation and the other internal duties which directly or indirectly assess goods;

- payment methods and transfer of such payments;

- the rules concerning sale, purchase, transportation, distribution and use of goods in the domestic market;

- issues of import and export certificates.

Article 3

Provisions of Article 2 will not extend on:
