for the purpose of combination of efforts on development and enhancement of the highways providing international carriages of loads and passengers
agreed as follows:
The network of the international automobile routes of the Commonwealth of Independent States represents system of the main and intermediate highways oriented in the directions the North - the South and the West - the East with branches and connecting roads. The list of the international highways of the Commonwealth of Independent States (further - the international highways of the CIS) contains in Appendix 1, being integral part of the this Protocol.
Each of the Parties will take according to the this Protocol proper measures in order that the sections of the international highways of the CIS which are in limits of the territory of the respective State Party of the Commonwealth were brought into accord with general requirements to the international highways of the CIS which contain in Appendix 2, being integral part of the this Protocol.
Information support and coordination of the specified activities of road administrations of the Parties in referral form is performed by Intergovernmental council of road builders (further - Council).
For the purpose of development of network of the international highways of the CIS the Parties perform actions step by step, within interstate programs, proceeding from financial opportunities of each of the Parties, with attraction in necessary cases of means of domestic and foreign investors.
The parties take adequate measures on integration of the international highways of the CIS into the European and Asian systems of highways and transport corridors.
