About population census and dwellings in the Republic of Moldova in 2014
The parliament adopts this ordinary law.
This law is transposition of Regulations (EU) No. 763/2008 of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union of July 9, 2008 about population census and the housing stock published in the Official magazine of the European Union No. L 218 of August 13, 2008 and creates necessary basis for its application.
(This law is intended for 1):
a) forming of the information resources concerning population of the country, its geographical distribution in combination with demographic is social - economic, national and language characteristics, educational level, and also housing stock and housing conditions of the population;
b) creation of the legal basis for carrying out population census and dwellings and development of the available regulating regulations;
c) reduction of the national legal system in compliance with the legislation of the European Community with that ensuring the international comparability of results of census.
(2) This law establishes procedure for the organization and carrying out population census and dwellings, collection and processing of the data obtained in its course.
(1) Censuses are subject the following categories of the population:
a) persons who are usually living in the Republic of Moldova;
b) persons which are temporarily absent - being at work and on study abroad;
c) personnel of diplomatic representations and consular establishments of the Republic of Moldova;
d) persons who are temporarily living in the Republic of Moldova.
