In pursuance of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "About names of geographical objects", and also for the purpose of further enhancement and effective realization of state policy in the field of assignment of names and renaming of geographical objects the Cabinet of Ministers decides:
1. Approve:
Regulations on the Republican commission on questions of assignment of names and renaming of geographical objects to soglasnoprilozheniye No. 1;
structure of the Republican commission on questions of assignment of names and renaming of geographical objects according to appendix No. 2;
Standard regulations on the territorial commissions on questions of assignment of names and renaming of geographical objects according to appendix No. 3.
2. Republican and to the territorial commissions according to their powers to provide:
comprehensive study of offers on assignment of names and renaming of geographical objects with issue of the corresponding conclusions to the bodies which made offers;
the organization of state examination of offers on assignment of names and renaming of geographical objects regarding their compliance to requirements of the legislation on names of geographical objects;
preserving names of the geographical objects connected with historical and cultural heritage, spiritual and ethnic values of the people of Uzbekistan, prevention of their unreasonable renaming;
non-admission of renaming of geographical objects and assignment of names by it alien to national traditions and mentality of the people of Uzbekistan;
