2. This order becomes effective from the date of state registration in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Rules of consular legalization

1. General provisions

1. Consular legalization (further - legalization) consists in check of compliance of documents to the current legislation of the state of stay and represents establishment and certification of signature of the official and seal on such documents for the purpose of their use in other state.

Legalization confirms competence of documents and acts in the international communication. The consul does not bear responsibility for contents of the document.

2. The purpose of legalization is providing guarantee to bodies of the country where the document is intended to be effective, that the document is authentic and is drawn up properly.

3. Functions on legalization are performed:

1) abroad - foreign institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

2) in the Republic of Kazakhstan - Department of consular service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (further - Department of consular service);
