The governments of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States which further are referred to as with the Parties

for the purpose of creating favorable conditions for social and economic development, coordination and consecutive deepening of cooperation of the State Parties of the CIS, expansion of interstate exchange of statistical information, development of general information and statistical space within the CIS,

wishing to develop methodological and practical cooperation in the field of official statistics,

recognizing that increase in efficiency of activities of statistical services of the State Parties of this agreement and quality of information statistical support will be result of such cooperation,

understanding importance of acceptance of the approved and coordinated measures for development of the state statistics in the territories of the State Parties of this agreement meeting the latest scientific developments and the international standards in the field of statistics proceeding from the Basic principles of official statistics accepted by the Statistical commission of the UN

expressing intention to perform support in development and implementation of interstate programs and joint projects in the field of official statistics,

being guided by the international obligations and the legislation of the State Parties of this agreement,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

And coordination of interaction of statistical services of the State Parties of this agreement in this area to assign development of the agreed principles and rules of cooperation in the field of official statistics of the State Parties of the CIS to the Council of heads of statistical services of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States (further - Council) performing the activities according to the Regulations on Council of heads of statistical services of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States which are integral part of this agreement (appendix 1).
