This law provides partial transposition of Regulations of Council No. 539/2001/EU of March 15, 2001 about the list of the countries which are not the members of the EU which citizens when crossing external borders shall have visas, and the countries which citizens are exempted from this requirement published in the Official magazine of the European Union No. L 81 of March 21, 2001.
The Parliament adopts this organic law.
(1) This law establishes the list of the states, natives of which shall have the visa when crossing frontier of the Republic of Moldova, and the list of the states, natives of which are exempted from this obligation.
(2) Provisions of this law are applied in cases of short-term stay in the Republic of Moldova lasting no more than 90 days during any period in 180 days, taking into account the last period in 180 days preceding every day of stay.
(3) for the purposes of this law the native of the third state is understood as any person having nationality of one of the states, territorial educations or administrations, special administrative areas specified in appendices 1, 2 and 3, including the refugees and persons without citizenship who are living in the relevant states, territorial educations or administrations, special administrative areas, having the travel documents issued by these states, territorial educations or administrations.
(1) Natives of the states, territorial educations and administrations specified in appendix 1, shall have the visa when crossing frontier of the Republic of Moldova.
