The Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan which are hereinafter referred to as the Party
being guided by provisions of the Treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual aid between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan of May 25, 1992, Agreements on collective security of May 15, 1992 and the Contract between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan on military cooperation of March 28, 1994,
recognizing need of combination of efforts and coordinated actions for questions of ensuring joint defense within general strategic space of the Parties,
agreed as follows:
For the purposes of this agreement the applied terms mean:
"coalition group of troops (forces)" - created on coalition basis under the joint command and developed (located) according to intention of their operational (operational and strategic) use of the contingent of combat-ready troops (forces) and means, allocated from structure of national armed forces, other troops and military forming of the Parties;
"the joint command" - the supreme body of military management of troops (forces) of coalition group;
"governing bodies of troops (forces) of the Parties" - the commands, headquarters, managements, departments and other temporarily established bodies created for the purpose of providing management and management of troops (forces) of the Parties;
"the threatened period" - the period of gradual or sudden aggravation of military-political situation in the region and threats of aggression against one of the Parties from any state or group of the states;
