The agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on mutual trips of citizens and on the simplified procedure for the citizens living in border areas

The government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties, being guided by provisions of the Treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan of January 16, 1996, expressing aspiration to further deepening of the relations between two states and development of contacts between citizens of the states, for the purpose of settlement of procedure for crossing of Frontier, streamlining of entrance, departure and stay of citizens in the territory of the states of the Parties, considering that further enhancement of conditions of trips of citizens of two states will serve strengthening of the mode of frontier, maintenance of legality and law and order, agreed as follows:

Article 1

Citizens of the state of one Party can drive, leave, follow en route and stay temporarily in the territory of the state of other Party according to the valid documents listed in appendices No. No. 1 and 2, and on the conditions provided by this agreement.

The questions which are not settled by this agreement will be solved according to the national legal system of the states of the Parties.

Article 2

Citizens of the states of the Parties during stay in the territory of the state of other Party shall follow the laws and rules of the state of this Party, including the rule of registration, stay and movement established for foreign citizens.

Article 3

Citizens of the states of the Parties drive, leave and follow en route through the territory of the state of one of the Parties through check points on frontier with observance of the boundary, customs and other procedures provided by the national legal system of the states of the Parties.
