Regulations on the State inspection of nuclear regulation of Ukraine

1. The state inspection of nuclear regulation of Ukraine (Gosatomregulirovaniya) is the central executive body which activities go and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and which provides forming and realizes state policy in the field of safety of use of nuclear energy.

2. Gosatomregulirovaniya in the activities is guided by the Constitution and the laws of Ukraine, presidential decrees of Ukraine and resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted according to the Constitution and the laws of Ukraine, acts of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, other acts of the legislation.

3. The main objectives of Gosatomregulirovaniya are:

1) ensuring forming and realization of state policy in the field of safety of use of nuclear energy;

2) implementation of state regulation of safety of use of nuclear energy;

3) implementation of powers of competent authority on physical protection of nuclear material and nuclear installations according to the Convention on physical protection of nuclear material and nuclear installations; concerning safe transportation of radioactive materials according to rules of nuclear and radiation safety in transit radioactive materials; concerning the emergency notification and informing according to the Convention on the operational notification on nuclear accidents.
