The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan which further are referred to as with the Parties

attaching importance to international cooperation in the legal sphere and to ensuring protection of human rights and freedoms according to the conventional principles and rules of international law,

proceeding from the mutual aspiration of the Parties to develop interaction on the questions which are of mutual interest

agreed as follows:

Article 1. General obligation to cooperate

The parties perform cooperation according to this agreement, being effective within the competence and observing the legislation and the international agreements of the states.

Article 2. Main directions of cooperation

The parties cooperate in the following main directions:

forming and realization of state policy in the field of justice;

providing rights and legitimate interests of the personality and state;

management of bodies and organizations of justice;

ensuring execution of acts of judicial and other authorities;

methodical ensuring legislative activity;

development of legal information systems;

the organization of maintaining registers and registration of acts in bodies and organizations of justice;

organization of legal assistance to the population;

preparation and advanced training of personnel for bodies and organizations of justice;

research activities for the questions which are of mutual interest;

the organization and ensuring execution of the international obligations according to international treaties on legal assistance and legal relations on civil, family and criminal cases.

Article 3. Forms of cooperation

For the purpose of accomplishment of provisions of Articles 1 and 2 of this agreement the cooperation of the Parties is performed, in particular, in the following forms:
