This Law regulates the legal relationship arising during preparation, carrying out population census, accumulating and storage primary (individual) and also distribution of aggregated data.
The legislation on population census consists of this Law, the Law of the Republic of Armenia "About the state statistics" and other legal acts regulating carrying out population census.
Operation of this Law extends to all persons who are (constantly or temporarily) in the Republic of Armenia at the time of the population census and also to the persons who are constantly living in the Republic of Armenia temporarily absent from the republic at the time of the population census.
The population census is conducted time in ten years.
The decision on carrying out population census in which the term of carrying out population census is established is accepted by the Government of the Republic of Armenia not later than two years prior to the population census.
For the purpose of assistance to works on preparation and carrying out population census also the regional commissions on population census which structure affirms the Government of the Republic of Armenia are formed nation-wide.
