considering interest of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan in preserving, effective use and development of historically developed single scientific and technical space,

recognizing need of strengthening and development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of science and new technologies for the benefit of the people of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan,

based on the Treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual aid between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan of May 25, 1992,

being guided by the Agreement on creation of general scientific and technological space of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States of November 3, 1995,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties will help sci-tech cooperation between the states on the basis of the principles of equality and mutual advantage, creating for this purpose necessary organizational, legal and financial and economic conditions.

Article 2

The cooperation within this agreement will be performed in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation by both the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and agreements signed between these states.

Article 3

The directions of bilateral sci-tech cooperation will be determined proceeding from long-term interests of both countries in development of basic researches and applied science.
