1. Approve the enclosed Rules of assignment of diplomatic ranks.

2. This Decree becomes effective from the date of signing.

Rules of assignment of diplomatic ranks

1. General provisions

1. These rules are effective according to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan of March 7, 2002 "About diplomatic service of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and regulate procedure for assignment of diplomatic ranks to the staff of diplomatic service of the Republic of Kazakhstan (further - employees).

2. Procedure for assignment of diplomatic ranks

2. The following diplomatic ranks are appropriated to employees:

1) attache;

2) third secretary;

3) second secretary of the II class;

4) second secretary of the I class;

5) first secretary of the II class;

6) first secretary of the I class;

7) adviser of the II class;

8) adviser of the I class;

9) Minister extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the II class;

10) Minister extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the I class;

11) Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary.

3. Diplomatic ranks of the Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary, Minister extraordinary and plenipotentiary of I and II classes are appropriated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on representation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
