About approval of the Regulations on the Ministry of Health of Ukraine

1. Approve Regulations on the Ministry of Health of Ukraine it (is applied).

2. Recognize to invalid:

The presidential decree of Ukraine of July 24, 2000 No. 918 "About approval of the Regulations on the Ministry of Health of Ukraine";

The presidential decree of Ukraine of April 25, 2002 No. 379 "About modification of the Regulations on the Ministry of Health of Ukraine";

Item of 26 changes which are made to presidential decrees of Ukraine, approved by the Presidential decree of Ukraine of March 5, 2004 No. 280 "About modification and recognition voided some presidential decrees of Ukraine".

3. To the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to bring in three-months time the acts into accord with this Decree.

4. This Decree becomes effective from the date of its publication.

Regulations on the Ministry of Health of Ukraine

1. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine (MZ of Ukraine) is the central executive body which activities go and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

MZ of Ukraine is principal organ in system of the central executive bodies in forming and ensuring realization of state policy in the field of health care, forming of state policy in spheres of sanitary and epidemic wellbeing of the population, creation, production, quality control and realization of medicines, medical immunobiological supplies and medical products, counteractions ВИЧинфекции / to AIDS and other socially dangerous diseases.

2. MZ of Ukraine in the activities is guided by the Constitution and the laws of Ukraine, acts of the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, other acts of the legislation of Ukraine, orders of the President of Ukraine, and also this Provision.

4. MZ of Ukraine according to the tasks assigned to it:

1) determines the priority directions of development of health sector, sanitary and epidemiologic wellbeing of the population, creation, production, quality control and realization of medicines, medical immunobiological supplies and medical products, counteractions ВИЧинфекции / to AIDS and other socially dangerous diseases;

2) generalizes practice of application of the legislation on the questions which are within the competence of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine develops suggestions for improvement of legal acts, acts of the President of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and in accordance with the established procedure submits them for consideration to the President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;

3) takes part in preparation of drafts of international treaties of Ukraine according to the legislation, prepares offers on the conclusion and denouncement of such agreements, signs the international agreements, provides accomplishment of obligations of Ukraine according to international treaties on the questions which are within the competence of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine;

4) normative legal regulation in spheres of health care, sanitary and epidemiologic wellbeing of the population, counteraction ВИЧинфекции / provides to AIDS and other socially dangerous diseases, creations, productions, quality control and realization of medicines, medical immunobiological supplies and medical products;
