These rules of maintaining the State fund of ecological information (further - Rules) are developed according to the subitem 7) of article 16 of the Ecological code of the Republic of Kazakhstan of January 9, 2007 (further - the Code) and determine procedure for maintaining the State fund of ecological information.
2. The state fund of ecological information (further - GFEI) is conducted for the purpose of providing state bodies, physical persons and legal entities with reliable information about state of environment and its objects, influencing factors for the environment, measures taken on its protection, prevention and reducing environmental pollution, use of natural resources.
