About approval of General rules of radiation safety of use of sources of ionizing radiation in medicine

According to article 27 of the Law of Ukraine "About use of nuclear energy and radiation safety", for the purpose of harmonization of the legislation of Ukraine with the legislation of the EU, the international standards and standards of IAEA existing in the field of safety of use of sources of ionizing radiation in medicine we ORDER:

1. Approve General safety rules of use of sources of ionizing radiation for medicine which are attached.

2. To management of radiation safety of Gosatomregulirovaniya (Ryazantsev V. F.) provide submission of this order on state registration in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine in accordance with the established procedure.

3. This order becomes effective from the date of its official publication.

4. We reserve control of execution of this order.

General rules of radiation safety of use of sources of ionizing radiation in medicine

I. General provisions

1. These rules extend to all healthcare institutions irrespective of patterns of ownership (further - medical institutions) using the sources of ionizing radiation (SIR) for medical radiation.
