for the purpose of further implementation of the Agreement on interaction of border troops of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States in case of crisis situations on external borders of May 17, 1996,

agreed as follows:

1. Approve the enclosed Regulations on the organization of interaction of boundary and other departments of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States in assistance in case of origin and settlement (liquidation) of crisis situations on external borders (further - the Provision).

2. The this Protocol becomes effective from the date of receipt by depositary of the third notification on accomplishment of necessary interstate procedures by the Parties. For the states which performed such procedures later it becomes effective from the date of receipt by depositary of adequate notices.

3. Changes and additions which are drawn up by the separate protocol which becomes effective according to the procedure, stipulated in Item 2 this Protocols can be made to the Provision.

4. After entry into force the this Protocol is open for accession of other states. For the joining state it becomes effective after 30 days from the date of receipt by depositary of the adequate notice.

5. Each of the Parties can leave the this Protocol, having sent the written notice of it to depositary at least in six months prior to exit. Exit from the this Protocol does not exempt the state from financial obligations which it undertook, being the Party of the this Protocol.
