The public sanitary and epidemiologic service of the Republic of Tajikistan (further - Service) is single state centralized system of the bodies and organizations exercising sanitary and epidemiological surveillance for the purpose of ensuring sanitary and epidemiologic safety of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The sanitary and epidemiologic service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tajikistan (further the referred to as Service of the Ministry of Health) is the state body authorized by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to exercise the state sanitary and epidemiological surveillance.
