The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of distribution of legal information and ensuring access to it.
The legislation on distribution of legal information and ensuring access to it consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about distribution of legal information and ensuring access to it then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
legal information - texts of regulatory legal acts, official interpretation to them, explanations about procedure for application of regulatory legal acts, solutions of the Constitutional court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, resolutions of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan concerning application of the legislation, and also materials of generalization of court practice;
access to legal information - possibility of free receipt of legal information and its use;
distribution of legal information - the actions directed to acquaintance of the uncertain group of people with legal information.
The basic principles of distribution of legal information and ensuring access to it are publicity, openness, timeliness of distribution of legal information and ensuring access to it, freedom of search and receipt of legal information.
